Information for Authors

JSCCA is an open access international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal's Aims and Scope for information about its focus and peer-review policy.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in English in a clear and concise manner. Any author who is not fluent in idiomatic English is urged to seek assistance with manuscript preparation prior to submission. Reviewers are not expected to correct grammatical errors and any deficiency in this area may detract from the scientific content of the paper and result in acceptance delays or rejection.

Types of Articles

JSCCA welcomes submissions of various article types, including:

  1. Original research articles: These papers present original findings and contribute new knowledge to the field. They typically include a clear research question, methodology, results, and discussion of the findings.
  2. Comprehensive review articles: These articles offer a thorough and critical analysis of existing literature on a specific topic. Comprehensive review articles synthesize and evaluate previous research, identify gaps in knowledge, and provide insights for future studies.

Before Submission

Please ensure that manuscript meets the following criteria:

  1. The manuscript is considered original work and has not been published or is currently under review with another journal or conference proceedings.
  2. Research ethics must be met. A separate section of “Ethical Approval” should be included in the manuscript if the project involves living or nonliving beings.
  3. The English of the manuscript should be correct and free of grammatical and spelling errors.
  4. It is best if the manuscript figures are of satisfactory quality and uploaded as separate files.
  5. The manuscript references are properly formatted according to standard reference style.
  6. The manuscript should be written in accordance with the provided template Manuscript Template Here .
  7. Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of the journal will be reviewed
  8. Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines manuscripts preparation below, will be rejected or returned to the author before the peer review process begins.

Preparation of Manuscripts

  • The online Manuscript Tracking System should be used to submit authors' manuscripts to the editorial office.
  • It is recommended that the original manuscript be formatted with single line spacing using Times New Roman fonts (10 pt) and fully justified right and left.
  • The text must be presented in a single column with justified margins. Subscripts and superscripts can be used where appropriate.
  • Word processing software should have spell-check and grammar-check functions to avoid unnecessary errors.
  • Continuous line numbering is used throughout the text and all manuscript pages must be numbered.
  • For equations, use the equation editor or Math Type.
  • Make tables with the table function.
  • The captions for figures and tables "should be 8 point.
  • Use the decimal system of headings with no more than three levels, for example, 1., 2., 2.1, 2.1.1,... etc.

Online Submission

One of the authors should submit the manuscript through the online Manuscript Tracking System (MTS) following the instructions on the screen. The MTS allows only Word (.doc,.docx,) files to be submitted, and there is no page limit. Submissions by anyone other than the authors will not be accepted. The submitting author is responsible for the manuscript during submission and peer review. If submission through the MTS is not possible, the author can contact JSCCA@uotecthnology.edu.iq for support.

Initial Evaluation

The Editorial Office will check all submitted manuscripts to make sure they are properly prepared and follow the ethical policies of the journal. All submissions are checked for potential plagiarism via the iThenticate software. The rejection of manuscripts that don't conform to the journal's ethical guidelines or don't meet the journal's requirements will be averted prior to peer evaluation. Unfinished manuscripts that fail to adhere to the suggested format will be returned to the authors without undergoing a thorough scholarly examination. It is the Editorial Office's goal to determine whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and is scientifically sound after these checks. Manuscripts with insufficient priority for publication will be discarded immediately. The text should be written in English (American English Language). The Editor reserves the right to reject a manuscript for lack of language quality. The chief editor will examine rejected decisions at this point.

Submission Declaration and Verification

When submitting a research paper to the journal, the following must be certified and guaranteed:

  • The article is submitted are legally able and entitled to submit it to the journal for publication. The journal will be notified if the research meets the required standards.
  • The research paper is original, has not previously appeared in any other journal (medical or otherwise), or is not currently under consideration for publication by another journal, and does not violate any existing copyright or other legal protections.
  • The article does not contain anything that is illegal, libelous, or that would, if published, constitute a violation of a contract or the confidentiality of information.
  • The research article was prepared with great care and all necessary investigations were conducted to ensure its accuracy. The data contained therein must be correct.

Title page

The title page should contain the following:

  1. Title: The title should be brief, clear, and descriptive. Literature references, compound numbers, or non-standardized abbreviations should not be included. It should be typed in Times New Roman 14 point and in boldface.
  2. Authors and Affiliations: For complete identification, supply given names, middle initials, and family names. Arial Bold 12-point, non-italic, and boldface should be used to type them. It is important to include department, faculty/college, university, city, and country in the superscript lowercase letters. The primary affiliation for each author should be the institution where they performed the bulk of their research. If the writer has since relocated, it's also possible to specify their current residence. The contact information will not be altered following the publication of the article.
  3. Author's Name: The author's name should be marked with an asterisk, and contact information (phone number, fax number, and email address) should be noted in a footnote. 16-digit ORCID of the corresponding author is available.
  4. The title, authors, and affiliations in Arabic should be listed in the same order as mentioned above, on a separate page within the same file.
    The running head has a short running title with 80 characters.

Abstract

The abstract should be concise, citation-free, and not exceed 300 words. The abstract should briefly describe the purpose of the study, how the investigation was conducted, the most important results, and the principal conclusions that were drawn from the results, respectively. Nonstandard or uncommon abbreviations should be defined at the first mention in the abstract. Times New Roman, 9-point, non-italic, and non-boldface should be used for the abstract.

Keywords

Authors are asked to provide four to six keywords, separated by comma, and should be typed in Times New Roman, 9-point, non-italic, and non-boldface.

Introduction

There should be no subheadings for this section. The creators should endeavor to establish the significance of the piece and the rationale behind its publication. Background discussions should be brief and focused on relevant material.

Material and methods (Experimental or Methodology or Patients and methods)

All procedures should be repeated if this part contains sufficient detail. The article can be categorized into sections if there are several methods explained. The authors should keep their descriptions of experimental outcomes as brief as possible. All the data required for reproducibility must be contained in the experimental section. A reference should be provided for previously published techniques, and only relevant adjustments should be made. The company, city, and country of the vendor should be mentioned for chemicals, reagents and strains. Please specify the appropriate tests and a hypothesized p-value or significant level (for example, 0.05) for statistical analysis.

Results and Discussion

They should be combined in one place. The results of the study should be clear and concise. The use of tables and figures should be limited to depict data that is essential to the message and interpretation of the study. It is important that the results are presented in a logical sequence. The discussion should examine the significance of the outcomes of the work, not merely rehash them. Discuss the implications and drawbacks of the findings, how they relate to other relevant work, and directions for future research.

Conclusion(s)

A short conclusion statement should highlight the goals of the study and its importance. Provide fresh theories when necessary. Recommendations are always welcome.

Acknowledgment(s)

The acknowledgments should be included at the very end of the manuscript before the references. It is important to acknowledge anyone who contributed to the research or manuscript, but who is not a listed author.

Conflicts of Interest

All relevant interests that could be perceived as conflicting must be declared by the authors. The authors should explain why each interest may be a conflict. The authors should state that there are no conflicts. Submitting authors are responsible for declaring their interests with co-authors.

References

Indicate references by Arabic numerals in brackets, which run in order of appearance throughout the text (Vancouver style), for instance [4] or [7-10, 13,15]. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given.

Figures

Bitmap formats (Photoshop, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, etc.) are also supported. The resolution of bitmap images should be at least 300 dpi, unless they're intentionally lowered for scientific reasons. Bitmap images with labels should be separated into layers. Use Arabic numerals to refer to the figures, which should be referred to as Fig. 1. Make sure that all tables, graphs, and diagrams are listed in numerical order in the text. Lowercase letters should be used to denote figure parts.

Tables

The tables should be cited in the text in consecutive order. The table must have a descriptive title and the units should be included in the column heading if they are numerical measurements. Rules that are horizontal should not be applied. The captions for figures and tables should be 8 points in Arial and without italics. Initially, only capitalize the first word of the caption. The captions for the figures should be located below them, and the titles for the tables should be centered and justified above them.

Funding Statement

The author must state how the research and publication of their article were funded, by naming financially supporting body(s) (written out in full) followed by associated grant number(s) in square brackets. Name the organization if the study didn't receive a specific grant but was performed as part of the authors' job duties. Please declare if the funder was involved in the manuscript's writing, editing, approval, or decision to publish.

Nomenclature and Units

Where possible, measurements and data should be given in SI units or other internationally accepted units in parentheses throughout the text. Tables and illustrations should use conventional units with conversion factors given in legends or footnotes.

Proofs

The corresponding author will receive a set of pages (as PDF files) proofs by email. The typesetting, editing, completeness, and correctness of the text, tables, and figures can be checked with this proof. The journal is committed to responding as accurately as possible. Therefore, it is important that all corrections are sent back in one communication within 48 hours. Proofreading is the responsibility of the author. The publisher may proceed with the publication of an article if no response is received.

Revised manuscripts

The uploading revised submissions should include the following files:

Revised manuscript:

Explicitly describing the modifications you've made since your initial submission by employing the "Track Changes" feature in Microsoft Word. The revision should be uploaded as a file with changes highlighted.

Response to reviewers:

Please enter the specific points made by each reviewer. Include your responses to all the feedback from the readers and editors and mention any modifications you've made to the manuscript. This document should be uploaded as a " Response to reviewers " file.

Revised manuscript (clean copy):

You should upload a clean copy of your revised manuscript with names, which will not show your changes. This should be uploaded as your Manuscript file

After acceptance

When your article is accepted, it will be exported to production to undergo typesetting. The proofs will be sent to you once the typesetting is done.

Peer Review

The journal adheres to the highest standards of review and peer-review integrity. Each received manuscript is initially evaluated by the editor for suitability to the journal. The editors reject manuscripts if they lack sufficient originality, possess serious scientific flaws, require extensive linguistic enhancement, or don't conform to the objectives and scope of the publication. The manuscripts that are deemed acceptable are sent to at least two outside experts to evaluate its scientific merit. The authors of this publication are not aware of the identities or details of the individuals who provide feedback in this publication. The editors' decision will be based on the evaluations from the reviewers, and authors will receive these evaluations along with the editorial decision regarding their manuscript. Even if a positive report comes to mind, the concerns raised by another reviewer could fundamentally undermine the study and lead to the manuscript's rejection.

Supplementary materials

Online files can be shared with articles or a book chapter by authors. Article title, journal name, authors names, affiliations, and email address should be included in each supplementary file. The supplementary files will be published exactly as they were handed in by the authors, without any modifications, modifications, or alterations.

Article Publishing Charge

The total amount of (110000 IQD) should be paid for authors residing in Iraq. There should be two payments for this amount. After the first check of the article submission, the first amount (22000 IQD) is paid. The second sum (88000 IQD) is paid when the article has received preliminary acceptance (scientific approval) All payments must be made in person at at the Journal of Soft Computing and Computer Applications office.

The waiver of 100% on Article Processing Charges applies to authors from all other countries. As a result, APCs are not required.
