Publisher History

The University of Technology cooperated with UNESCO to establish the University in 1960. The Ministry of Education submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers and obtained approval on June 1, 1975, to establish the University of Technology as an independent institution, separated from the University of Baghdad. The University of Technology was established in 1975 as the first Iraqi university specialising in technology science and engineering.

The College of Computer Science (formerly the Department of Computer Science) has been part of the University of Technology since its establishment, producing distinguished graduates in computing and information technology.
